The Galapagos Islands Ecuador

The Galápagos is a group of islands located 1,000 km away from the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. The Galápagos consists of 13 main islands and 6 smaller ones. Santa Cruz is the most significant island in the Galápagos and is home to Puerto Ayora, the largest town in the group of islands with the most developed tourist accommodations and facilities. Due to its isolated location, there are many indigenous species on the islands. The islands are of volcanic origin, and some still have active volcanoes. Most of the Galápagos Islands are either a protected National Park or a Marine Reserve. The Galápagos is globally recognized for its unique and fearless wildlife. It is the dream destination for anyone even slightly interested in animals. The wildlife on these islands never fails to fascinate all visitors. A trip to the Galápagos is not truly complete without diving into the water to witness the incredible diversity of life, including the endemic species the islands are home to. Swimming with penguins or sea lions is an unforgettable experience.
